"I know people in GameDay who don’t understand sports, don’t watch sports, and don’t play sports. And yet, they are so passionate about what they do."
Alina Shah, Online Public Relations What appealed to you the most about GameDay, that made you want to join? To be completely honest, I joined because I believe it’s crucial to advocate sports and athletics in such a stressful and academically focused environment. It’s really fun! And not only do we have a good time, but we support our teams and increase school spirit! So, what exactly do you do? Basically, I gather scores of the teams currently playing and post them online for oxford students, GameDay Facebook fans, and the rest of the world to see :] What does it take to get where you are now? The most important quality that a GameDay rep needs is the sincere desire to support our mission statement. To really believe that what we do makes a difference and helps increase campus-wide awareness of our oa sports. You need to be dedicated. You need to be passionate. You need to be GameDay. What are the best & worst parts about your job? The worst part of my job is when I can’t seem to get my info or scores from anyone and I can’t fulfill my duty and let everybody know what’s going on. The best part of my job is pretty much the happiness I feel being able to tell uninformed students what they don’t know. Any last words or commentary you have say about GameDay? I’d like to thank My. Hauge for all he’s done for GameDay. THANK YOU! :P |
