Jonathan Okada, Full Time Volunteer

What appealed to you the most about GameDay, that made you want to join?

I wanted to be more involved with our Patriot athletics and also be able to have fun with my friends.

So, what exactly do you do?

I try to help out wherever help is needed, but I am usually involved in setting up the tables or anything else that needs to be put up at the game and hang up promotional posters.

What does it take to get where you are now?

A Field/Operations Crewmember, or any GameDay member, needs to be dedicated toward his or her job. GameDay is a team effort, making every person involved a vital part of the event to be a success. Most importantly, remember to just enjoy your time at the game and cheer on our Patriots!

What are the best  & worst parts about your job?

Although every GameDay member helps contribute his or her part, I feel the best about my job because it makes me feel like I am directly contributing towards the game. The worst part may be the fact that we have to come early to school to set up posters sometimes, but it does not happen frequently and can be rescheduled to putting them up after school.

Any last words or commentary you have say about GameDay?

I have to say that joining GameDay was a great decision. My only regret was not joining it earlier when the club was in its infancy. James Li told me to join cause it was going to be a fun, worthwhile experience, but I missed out by not following his suggestion. I said that I was too busy with my schedule, but now as a junior, with one of the most stressful years in high school, GameDay is not a large impact on your schedule and helps alleviate some of that stress to be with friends and help make the game even more enjoyable for fans and supporting the athletes. Being a part of GameDay will allow you to leave a lasting impression not only upon Oxford Academy, but upon your fellow athletes, the attending fans, and even yourself, and you will not regret it.
