The Freshman John Good shows GameDay how his first year's experience has gone and his excitement for Homecoming.
1. Can you please explain the position you play and let us know how it feels to be a freshman on Varsity? I play center. The big man on the court. As a freshman on Varsity I feel the same as the other players. All the players treat me the same most of the time.2. How do you personally feel about going into the Homecoming game this Friday? Your personal goals? Going into the Homecoming game I feel we can win. Personally, I hope to do well by scoring 5+ points, getting 5+ rebounds, and playing hard on defense.3. How does your team feel about going into the Homecoming game this Friday? Team goals? I think we feel confident. Especially after beating St. Margarets. We expect to pick up the intensity on defense and offense.4. Will the Homecoming game be any different than any other league game? I think Homecoming will be different in that both teams will pick up the intensity. We have to play harder and faster. The bench has to be ready to play to relieve the starters.5. Does being a freshman affect your confidence or style of play? No, being a freshman doesn’t affect me. Under pressure I believe I perform better.6. How has your experience playing for Oxford been so far? My experience has been good so far. I like the coach. I like the players on the team. I have lots of fun being with them.7. What are your goals for this season? This season I just want to perform at my best and improve. This year I need to work on perfecting my game. So next year I can be ready to make a big impact.8. What changes would you make for the rest of the season or for next season? I need to work on my dribbling and handling the ball. Also I need to get more physical with my opponent.9. What is your favorite aspect of basketball? I like the game. I like playing the game. There is nothing not to like.10. How close are the guys on the team and what is your bond like with the rest of them? We are pretty close as a team. There is no hate between players. We have fun when we’re together. |
